A Unique (and winning) Football Coach

This rather extensive article talks about Kevin Kelly of Pulaski, Arkansas who coaches football his way. Playing percentages and keeping his high powered offense on the field. What exactly do I mean by this?

Kelly's team only punted twice this year, twice, and that was in an effort not to run up the score. Why? Because the percentages say that the extra down and the flexibility it provides outweighs the harm of possibly turning it over on downs.

Additionally, Kelly's teams in an inordinately high part of time go for the onsides kick because the difference in yardage just isn't that great.

An innovator, slightly crazy, but an innovator.
