Relievers

There are several different strategies that good roto managers can take with closers. I think one can skin the proverbial cat different ways, you can go for those elite relievers early and be o.k. if you can get outfield late, you can wait to the end and go for cheap relievers (which there is a lot of debate about but I'm starting to believe this is the best strategy), or just kinda all over the place looking at value.

So ... not a whole lot of substance there, here are my reliever ratings, thats what you want:

I highly advise having a list of every teams closer at hand when you draft in case you keep getting your guy swiped you can still salvage some guys without feeling that you have to take someone too early.

  1. Nathan - Minn
  2. Papelbon - Bos
  3. Lidge - Phil.
  4. Rivera - NYY
  5. K.Rod - NYM
  6. Soria - KC
  7. F.Cordero - Cincy
  8. Valverde - Houston
  9. B.Jenks - CHW
  10. Broxton - LAD
  11. Fuentes  - ??? FA
  12. B. Wilson - SF
  13. Ryan - Tor
  14. Capps - Pit
  15. C.Marmol - ChC
  16. H. Street - Col.
  17. H. Bell - SD
  18. K. Wood - Cle
  19. M. Gonzalez
  20. Sherrill
  21. Qualls
  22. C. Wilson
  23. Hoffman
  24. Rodney - Det. -
  25. Hanrahan - Wash.
  26. D. Wheeler - Tampa - may not close
  27. Lindstrom - Fla - may not close
  28. D. Riske - Milw - may not close
  29. J. Devine - Oak - no clue who will close
  30. Zieglar - Oak - no clue who will close
  31. Gregg - ChC - may beat out Marmol
  32. Rauch - Ari - may beat out Qualls
  33. Zumaya - Det - may beat out Rodney
  34. Corpas - Col - may beat out Street
  35. Arrendo - LAA - not thinking he will close but best guess for now
  36. B. Marrow - Sea - not sold on this BUT ...
  37. C. Cordero - FA
  38. Gagne - FA
  39. Saito - FA
  40. Putz - NYM - if KRod goes down
  41. J. Lewis - Cle - if Wood goes down
  42. C. Perez - StL - just don't see it but best for now
  43. S. Rivera - Wash - may beat out Hanrahan
  44. F. Fransisco - Tex - may step in for C. Wilson
Once you get into the 20's there are a bunch of holes but if I had to guess I say Fuentes will sign with the Cards, Gagne will with the Brewers and C. Cordero with the Angels. That would move C. Cordero up the board.

Also beware of George Sherrill, I feel he may be traded to a set up role thereby losing all his closer value.

Also, and this is obvious, these may change at any time, I change my board slightly pretty much after every draft.
