The Election

Obama won the big election, no surprise there but in Mississippi news there were some surprises to me as Childers and Wicker both won by bigger margins than I thought they would. Even more surprising than that is the fact we have 3 new Supreme Court Justices as Pierce defeated Diaz, Chandler defeated Easley and in the biggest shocker it appears Kitchens defeated Chief Justice Jim Smith (this may go to a runoff, however).

What may be most interesting this year in finally wrapping up this election is looking at "local ballot measures" like the Cali gay marriage, South Dakota's abortion change, and Colorado's ending affirmitive action measures. All of which were losing last I checked. In local ballot that passed I noticed legalizing medical marijuana in Michigan and assisted suicide in Washington seem to close to becoming law.
