Croom's Last Stand?

I am not as disgusted as some MSU fans with the State football team but on some level the statistics do speak for themselves. No one wants to be embarrassed by their football team and that keeps happening with Mississippi State football. We have lost 13 games in Crooms 4+ years by more than 3 touchdowns.

2004
L - Auburn 43-14
L - LSU 51-0

2005
L-Auburn 28-0
L - LSU 37-7
L - Florida 35-9
L - Arkansas 44-10

2006
L - Auburn 34-0
L - LSU 48-17
L - W.Virginia 42-14

2007
L - LSU 45-0
L - W. Virginia 38-13

2008
L - Georgia Tech 38-7
L - Tennessee 34-3

Now what makes this happen is a complete lack of offense more than a lacking on defense (most of the time). Last nights game is a good example of this as 14 of those points were on interception returns and that doesn't count the poor field position and tired defense from too much time on the field.

Now I might could look past being blown out if somehow you could call those anomalies but in offensive terms.

2004 - 107th in the country
2005 -113th in the country
2006 - 103rd in the country
2007 - 113th in the country
2008 - through the Tenn. game - 111th in the country

IMO this is why we cannot stay in games, we simply cannot score points.

Games with no touchdowns: Ole Miss (2004), Auburn (2005), Florida (2005), Alabama (2005), South Carolina (2006), Auburn (2006), LSU (2007), Auburn (2008), Tennessee (2008)

Additionally turnovers kill us, now why it is not nearly as bad as the offense we cannot win consistently when we are in teh bottom half of the country in turnovers (every year but one)

2004 - 66th in the country
2005 - 48th in the country
2006 - 76th in the country
2007 - 55th in the country
2008 - through the Tenn.game - 92nd in the country

And if you don't really want to get that deep and are not a big stat person then it can simply be boiled down to wins

2004 - 3-8 - Wins: Florida, Kentucky, Tulane
2005 - 3-8 - Wins: Ole Miss, Tulane, Murray State (D2)
2006 - 3-8 - Wins: Alabama, UAB, Jacksonville St. (D2)
2007 - 8-5 - Wins: Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Central Florida, Tulane, UAB, Gardner Webb (D2)
2008 - through the Tennessee game - 2-5 - Wins: Vanderbilt, SELA (D2)

So if you are into wins and don't count D2 under Croom we are: 15-33
